Catholics in public office or speaking in a public venue to thousands of listeners have an obligation to avoid promoting a known heresy. Nobody today could possibly be ignorant of the Church teachings on contraception and abortion. Yeah, my title is crude. I’m at my desk unable to work because the Little Tiger, who is almost three, is throwing a temper tantrum over being forbidden to bring the outside slide into the house. Divorce strikes at the heart of our vocations that include marriage. Divorce is a symptom of flaws in how we develop ourselves and in the way we choose our spouses. More study of those flaws and what needs to be done to correct them will go far in the effort to decrease divorce. Over at the Register they have an EXCELLENT article about the damage divorce causes children. I’ve this wonderful little story of which I am very proud and it would make a nice children’s picture book. I know what kind of art work I want to see put with it and would prefer to work with the artist myself to plan the series of illustrations. Parenting has its chores and joys. I take parenting seriously as a major part of my vocation. It is not my very favorite part of my vocation but it is up there near the top. I truthfully enjoy study and writing more than I do parenting. I enjoy the relationship with my husband more than I enjoy parenting. Parenting comes next in the hierarchy of what I enjoy most in my vocation. That said, it is certainly an important part of the vocation of marriage. Yesterday was a major head-ache of a day. An actual head ache was the core problem. I couldn’t shake it, not with a nap, not with medication, and as the pain medication for the c-section is strong and I’m still on it that unshakable head ache didn’t make sense. I do have a head-cold. But usually the saline nasal flush does a good job easing the sinus head-ache situations. This seemed to do little. They asked about blood pressure but this is already measured and managed with medication. I also have been pushing fluids and yet I am thirsty. How … Continue reading
I woke this morning to a screaming two year old who was just plain GRUMPY and determined that I not be left alone to think and blog. Coming on the heels of an evening spent with this same child being unwilling to leave me alone to read before bed, I find myself with a head-ache and nothing much of depth to say.
