Difficulties in Raising Children CATHOLIC

Raising children to be good Catholics, true to the fullness of the Faith, is difficult enough with most of secular society teaching a different philosophy, but then we get nuns who teach heresies publicly and the Bishop does not announce that they are excommunicated.  Doesn’t the Bishop realize that by allowing this woman to continue in her errors without strong public correction he makes it harder for me to convince my children that her words are WRONG? Sister Donna Quinn, a Chicago native who has been a Catholic nun for over 50 years, said it’s about time for Illinois to … Continue reading

Gratitude to God for Good Priests

I experienced a marvelously refreshing silent spiritual retreat last week. This quiet time to be focused on God and not on the everyday stuff came just in time to help me find my center for Advent. Besides giving us deep messages from Scripture and Church teaching to ponder, daily Mass served faithfully and reverently, this priest spent several hours in the confessional so that if in our examinations of conscience we found anything requiring confession, that was available to us.  This priest was so dedicated he was in the confessional so long that every participant in the retreat could have … Continue reading

Wolves “reared among sheep” and the Catholic Vote

If the current Culture of Death sitting president of the USA is re-elected it will be due to Catholic voters and the blame for their votes sits soundly on the shoulders of the Bishops of the USA. “If someone thought that wolves could be reared among sheep, imagine what chance the sheep would have.” –St. Josemaria Escriva, Furrow #967 The Bishops claim they are being pastoral because they care about the souls of these dissidents who keep repeating heresies; but I think they have missed a serious point I found here by a poor little priest: “The conversion of a … Continue reading

SCANDAL! Public Catholics promoting heresies

Catholics in public office or speaking in a public venue to thousands of listeners have an obligation to avoid promoting a known heresy. Nobody today could possibly be ignorant of the Church teachings on contraception and abortion. Possible perhaps to be confused on the Church’s teaching on marriage or the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, but NOT possible to be confused on contraception and abortion being gravely wrong, sinful, and completely contrary to Church teachings on LIFE. Catholics no matter what vocation they have are ALL obligated to know the faith and to clearly … Continue reading

“We Are Starting Over”

We Are Starting Over I am very very impressed with what this priest wrote. PLEASE, please go read his entire blog post.  It is an important set of things he has to say. I would so love to attend a parish with a priest like him– although I love and respect our parish priest for the excellent work he does. Home School is one means that parents can use to teach the Faith to their children and at the same time be reinforcing their own understanding.  I think this priest understands that value and would welcome children of good home … Continue reading
