Abortion and Catholic Teaching

Abortion is an objectively evil act. A Catholic can never approve of, have, participate in, pay for, or take any action that makes abortion more likely to occur without endangering their soul and receiving an automatic excommunication. A person claiming to be Catholic claimed to me that the Church recognizes that abortion is sometimes necessary.  THIS IS A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL.  What the Church teaches is that a miscarriage is not a sin.  Therefore, if in the course of saving a woman’s life and attempting to preserve her pregnancy that pregnancy is lost there is no sin.  … Continue reading

That word ‘OUGHT’

Many times we give a gift and the first response of the recipients is, “You didn’t need to do that!” and I always feel a bit annoyed by the comment because I’m not so virtuous a person that I would give a gift I didn’t want to give.  I know I don’t need to give a present, but sometimes I simply want to give a gift anyway.  I think the comment ‘You didn’t need to do that.” comes from a niggling feeling that anytime a person gives a gift it is because they felt obligated to do it.  This worry … Continue reading

E-books and Print Books: my opinion

E-books should cost much less than print books with their manufacturing over-head. A $3 difference is hardly any difference at all!  I expect that an e-book price sits under half the print cost of that same book.  Even better, I expect it to be even lower than that. I enjoy my computer and my kindle and my droid phone.  There is very much to recommend them and someday I would like a nice ipad or tablet, but not quite yet. Meanwhile, I struggle with the entire idea of books in digital format where a computer crash might cause them to … Continue reading

Ordinary Goodness: Vatican II

Vatican II is a set of guidelines for a powerful revival in the Catholic Church, a revival capable of pulling many separated brethren and lukewarm Catholics back to the true Faith. Therefore, the powers of hell have worked tirelessly to influence individuals to undermine the work of Vatican II; an undermining made possible by many years of bad or non-existent religious education and general spiritual laziness on the part of the majority of Christians. I think it will be the LAITY, loyal to the Pope and to Church Teaching, who will respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and through reform … Continue reading

Debate between Romney and Obama

I loved listening to Governor Romney. There were moments when Romney’s graciousness and class shined brightly and moments when his turn of phrase reminded me of my favorite president of all time. But the most telling part of the debate came with the prepared statements made by the candidates. Incumbent President Obama referred to Americans as “they” and “them” rather than “we” and “us” revealing his elitist anti-Americanism. Governor Romney’s position on jobs creation and energy independence resonated with me. As a pro-life, Libertarian leaning Republican TEA partier, I am so GLAD to have the option of voting for Romney … Continue reading

Abortifacients and the Bible

I was sent this article: Abortifacients–pharmakeia and sorcery by a friend and decided to share it with my readers.  The footnotes about the Biblical take on birth control were great. I like this quote from the footnotes of the article: “Pharmakeia denotes the mixing of potions for secretive purposes, and from Soranos and others, evidence exists of artificial birth control potions. Interestingly, pharmakeia is oftentimes translated as ‘sorcery’ in English. In the three passages in which pharmakeia appears, other sexual sins are also condemned: lewd conduct, impurity, licentiousness, orgies, ‘and the like.’ (Confer Galatians 5:19-21.) This evidence highlights that the … Continue reading
