Prophet, Priest and King: The Christlike Roles in Fictional Characters By Karina Fabian

Today’s post is a guest post by Karina Fabian, writer of the Mind Over trilogy and other marvelous fiction and a member of the Catholic Writer’s Guild.                                                                                                                                  When I’m around Catholic writers, they sometimes ask me why … Continue reading

Stand Up and MOVE!

Stand up and get moving for your health. Over at the Catholic Writer’s Guild is a great post titled, “Creaky Bones? Fitness for Writers” which I found inspirational and reminded me of some things I have done for my health but let slide. Keeping my body healthy is an important part of fulfilling my vocation. It is also important to show my children a good example. I used to do all my internet activity from a desk stationed for standing only. I loaded all my favorite move my body music onto that computer and would play music while I surfed … Continue reading

7 Quick Takes Friday

I am never sure anything of interest to me is of interest to any one else, but here are seven things that came across my life this Friday morning: 1 The wrecker is finally carrying off my poor little Toyota Echo this morning. I miss it, but am going to get a heavier car next time.  The person who pulled out less than two car lengths in front of me walked away from her car where-as I was in so much pain that I had to be carried away by ambulance. 2 The Catholic Writer’s Guild Conference Online is cancelled … Continue reading

Catholic Writer’s Guild LIVE! Conference REVIEW

I spent most of this past week in Arlington taking in the amazing Catholic Writer’s Guild Live! Conference, that took place in the same place as the Catholic New Media Conference, and the Catholic Marketing Network Trade Show.  WOW!!!  It has taken me nearly three days of recovery to even begin to absorb all that I attended. First, the good.  I loved meeting people whose blogs and books I have read, am reading, or would like to read. That was so very very FUN I can barely handle it yet.  Give me time.  I’m a mite slow in managing input … Continue reading

Catholic Conferences Galore!

August 28-31 is a cluster of Catholic Conferences in Arlington Texas. This is an opportunity for expanding one’s understanding of one’s vocation.  I blog and write, so this conference cluster that includes both the Catholic Writers’ Guild Conference and the Catholic New Media Conference is a rich opportunity. The Catholic Marketing Network (CMN) Trade Show begins with an education day on August 28, and the Trade Show floor closes at 1 PM on August 31(CMN Schedule). This is a business oriented conference and shares quite a few speakers with the CNMC. The Catholic New Media Conference (CNMC) begins August 29 … Continue reading

Catholic Writer’s Guild Online Conference

I am busy enjoying the interesting workshops on the CWG’s online writer’s conference all this week. This means there may be fewer posts, but it also means there will be more sprucing up being done on my blog and I will be making a to-do list of changes I’d like to make as I learn how to make them. Meanwhile, keep praying your way through Lent!
