Advent: Hell is REAL!

Hell is a very real place and the vast majority of humanity through the abuse of their free will have chosen to live lives that will end with their spending eternity in Hell.

13 Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. 14 How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it! —Matthew 7:13-14

REPENT! is a constant admonition in the Scriptures and the Tradition of the Church.  St. Paul spent a lot of ink to warn the Baptized of how easy it is to lose the reward of heaven.  If the great evangelist to the gentiles could admit that it was possible for him to lose heaven, I am convinced that there are many who think they are safe who are, in fact, not safe at all.

I hope to see many saved. The Bible is pretty clear that the gift procured by the Savior whose birthday we celebrate this month with such great anticipation is free but not easy. It comes with standards that can be found in scripture and in Catholic Teaching.

Please read the Gospels and the letters of the New Testament and see how real Hell was to the men who walked with Jesus and were taught by Jesus during his public ministry.  Then REPENT, go to Confession to be reconciled with the Lord whose Body is the Catholic Church, and persevere in seeking Heaven.

For even as the body without the spirit is dead; so also faith without works is dead. Hell is real. I hope that everyone, friend or enemy, will choose Christ and do good works as Christ commanded. —James 2:26 c.f. James 2:1-26

Hell is real so I pray for sinners to repent and nurture in themselves by their good works a living and powerful Faith.

Dear Lord, please help all people attain true repentance. Please help me to persevere and grow in virtue. Please grant me success in teaching my children Your truths and how to live for eternity. Amen.
