Other Person’s Glad Tidings

I’ve recently noticed something about myself; I noticed that when I am sad and in difficulties, reading about something good happening to a friend or acquaintance helps me feel hopeful.  That is one of the reasons that community is so important.  We create little groups, sometimes in person, sometimes online, sometimes a mix of the two, and in that little group we share back and forth about the events of our lives to the benefit of the community. The Great Weight Write-off WEEK 2

Good morning! beginning another week of sticking to our diet plans and working to be healthier. Our lives are enhanced by greater health and so are the lives of our families. One member of the family stepping out and changing actions can make a very big difference in the lives of all members of the family. Especially if that person is doing the cooking! Community Building

Our Church is supposed to be a family and a community but so often it is simply the place where we go to Mass and then go home. One common solution to this is to attempt to turn the Mass into a social connecting time.  This is a serious error for this reason: Mass is for worshiping God and becoming closer to Christ through participation in the Liturgy of the Word and in receiving the Eucharist.  Our unity as a community comes through our unity with God and to change the Mass is to downplay this essential aspect.  Keep the … Continue reading
